Friday Notes #2

It has been a while since I last contributed to this blog and I am committed to making an effort to communicate with parents.  So, Let me hear from you.  Respond with a comment or an e-mail to indicate that you will look to this post for current information about Brunson.  I also am considering a twitter account that parents can follow.  For the month of October, the blog will do.

We had a wonderful SIT meeting Thursday and discussed our Data that we will use to revise our School Improvement Plan.  We would like parent representation on this committee and currently have Mrs. J. Bell as our one representative.  If you are interested please contact me or our PTA president, Megan Moore, for additional details.

Coming this Tuesday, September 28th, is our WatchDOGS Pizza event.  Please come out and hear from our lead dog Andy Lester-Niles about this wonderful program and enjoy a few slice of pizza with your son or daughter.  Bring your calendar and sign up for a day to spend here as a valued WatchDOG volunteer.  It may be one of the best days of your year.

Our Bus and traffic pattern continue to run smoothly.  Please do your part to keep everyone safe by driving slow and being aware.  We strongly suggest that our arrival and dismissal times be classified as CELL-PHONE FREE PERIODS.  this choice to focus on student safety will allow all of us to value the efforts of our students and the work they do each and everyday here at Brunson.

Mark your calendars for International Night and the Parade of Nations on October 19th.  Please join us in this annual event that celebrates our rich diversity and heritage.  Look to the Tuesday packet for more information.

Speaking of the Tuesday Packet, we will have mid-term progress reports delivered on September 28th. Our 3-5 teachers have started their training for on-line gradebooks and the parent assist portal will be stocked with grades soon.  Look for more info in next weeks blog.

Thanks for reading and please come by to visit and experience Brunson for yourself.
