Summer Memo #1 June 18th

I hope all is well and you are ready to celebrate Father's Day.

I have lots of news to share and very little time to type so expect more as I plan on bloging twice weekly.

From Janie Costello and the Imagine It training!

Good afternoon. For those of you that have received Imagine It! materials, the teachers will just need to bring Volume 1 for their grade level. They will not need any of the other materials in the kits. There will be some extra TE's at the training for the schools who have not yet ordered their materials.

Just a reminder: Kindergarten training is at Griffith Elementary School and Grades 1-5 are at Flat Rock Middle School. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Janie

Last evening there was a fundraiser for The Second Harvest Food Bank "Backpack Program" at Brunson. It was a magical affair that raised enough money to supply 50 of our students with a backpack of food for each weekend of next school year. The seed ideal for the program came from a parent who wanted to help our students in need. After joining forces with other like-minded & action-oriented Brunson families, we now have the chance to impact lives beyond the academic reach of our school. The highlight of the fundraiser was receiving the glowing compliments shared by the families of the students we serve. Those rave reviews were for work that YOU DO! Stan Elrod taught me, "Principals receive 90% of the credit for 10% of the work." I am so thankful for working with each and everyone of you and want to pass those compliments to their rightful owners - the staff at Brunson - GREAT JOB!

I will post pictures and an update of the total dollars raised as we get details from Daisy Rodriguez and the fine folks at Second Harvest.

Share with your colleagues to check the blog weekly and keep up with the happening here over the summer.

Enjoy the weekend.............Jeff
